Returning To The Body’s Wisdom: A Jungian Journey

This course is a homecoming, a return to the body as a felt experience of wholeness, unfolding through heartbeat and breath, through sensation and ache. As we slow down and listen, the body begins to reveal what it has been carrying all along, the sorrow that was never named, the instinct that was silenced, the truth that was split off to keep us safe. Beneath the surface of our symptoms and patterns, something waits to be remembered. It is here we rediscover a deeper truth, that psyche and body are not separate, but two expressions of the same living wholeness, shaping one another in a spiral dance of becoming.

Rooted in Jungian depth psychology, this journey invites you into the threshold space where psyche touches soma. We follow in Jung’s footsteps, not only drawing on his psychological insights, but listening closely to the way he lived them. From his fainting spells and bodily symptoms, to his practice of painting mandalas, building stone towers, and dialoguing with inner figures through image and movement, Jung understood that the work of individuation is not abstract, it is embodied.

Guided by his words, “individuation is born out of the body,” we turn toward the body not as something to overcome, but as the very ground of transformation. It is here, in the felt, symbolic, and imaginal life of the body that the Self begins to stir.

What Is This Course About?

This course is an invitation to listen, deeply, to the wisdom of your body. To the ache in your chest, the tightness in your throat, the sudden tears or the restless hunger, not as problems to be fixed, but as messages from the Self. It is an invitation to follow sensation into perception, and perception into apperception, to feel, to notice, to bring to consciousness the knowing that lives in the body, so that it might find its rightful place in guiding us toward wholeness and transformation.

This course is about reclaiming the forgotten language of the body, and learning, again, how to speak with it.

This course offers a deeper kind of learning, the kind that unfolds slowly, inwardly, and through the body itself.

• Cultivate a more intimate relationship with your body as a source of wisdom and symbolic meaning

• Recognize how symptoms, sensations, and patterns carry the voice of the unconscious

• Deepen your understanding of Jungian concepts by experiencing them directly through the body

• Practice active imagination, somatic inquiry, and archetypal reflection as pathways to wholeness

• Learn to listen to your body not with judgment, but with reverence

• Discover how image, gesture, and sensation can guide your ongoing individuation process

How Does The Course Work?

Over the 8 weeks you will get one module per week to read through and explore embodied practices. Course material is in transcript format with support and feedback on a private Student Forum. There will be a live zoom student seminar on the 13th of July which will be recorded for students unable to attend.

Each module weaves together written teachings, guided practices, symbolic reflections, and invitations to engage the body as a site of transformation.

You’ll explore your body and its reflection of your inner world through:

• Embodiment practices to attune to sensation, posture, and breath

• Active imagination and creative invitations (writing, movement, art)

• Reflective prompts that engage both psyche and soma

• Symbolic applications that help translate body experience into meaning
