PROGRAMME STRUCTURE



Join us for a one-hundred-day guided practice of individuation
as a daily ethic, 
ritual, and meditation.

This practice includes and is inspired by the Taoist Microcosmic Orbit Meditation,
as detailed in the text of The Secret of the Golden Flower.

Included over the course of the 120 days:
-
10 days of preparation,
 -
100 days of practice10 days post practice debrief and assimilation.

We will guide you in understanding and applying the
Jungian ethic of individuation as a daily meditative, conscious,
and ritualistic practice.
 

The programme is led by Stephen Anthony Farah MA, the programme architect,
who has developed this method and practice over the last two decades.
This method is and inspired by the Secret of the Golden Flower Text
and Jung’s psychoanalytic interpretation
of the text.

Stephen will be assisted on this programme by co-facilitators
Johann Mynhardt, Byron Gaist and Tasha Tollman,
see their respective bios below.

8 LIVE WEBINARS:

Fortnightly throughout the programme on a Saturday at 17h00 (GMT).
(All webinars are recorded for later viewing for those unable to attend live.)



PRIVATE STUDENT FORUM:


Membership of a private and facilitated Student Forum for all students
for the sharing and discussion of the applications
and other reflections throughout the programme,
with other students and the facilitation team.



APPLICATIONS:

Detailed applications and exercises to follow for the duration of the programme.



TEXT READINGS:

A close reading of a few texts related to the practice.



LEARNING MATERIAL:

All essential learning material is provided.



ADDITIONAL RESOURCES:

Additional film, video lecture and reading links and recommendations,
throughout the programme.



ACCESS:

12 months access to all learning material after the end of the programme.

PROGRAMME LEADER


Stephen Anthony Farah, MA
 is the co-founder and Head of Learning and Research at The Centre for Applied Jungian Studies South Africa. He held the position co-Chair of the International Association of Jungian Studies from 2020-2023. Stephen holds an honours degree in analytical philosophy from the University of the Witwatersrand and a master’s degree in Jungian and Post Jungian Studies from the University of Essex.

Stephen’s areas of interest include psychoanalysis, film, psychoeducation, consciousness, individuation, and Future Studies. His published papers include ‘True Detective and Jung’s Four Steps of Transformation’ published in ‘The Routledge International Handbook of Jungian Film Studies’ (2018) and ‘The Freak: in Search of Jung’s second Personality’, in the anthology ‘The Spectre of the Other in Jungian Psychoanalysis: Political, Psychological and Sociological Perspectives’, (Routledge 2022) which he co-edited.

FACILITATORS


Tasha Tollman
an Applied Jungian Practioner at The Centre of Applied Jungian Studies, encountered Jung for the first time in 2006, graduated from the Master Class and the Clinical Concepts Programme in 2014. Having directly experienced the transformative power of Jungian psychology, she enthusiastically shares her journey and knowledge guiding others along the path into the depths of the psyche. With her degrees in Adult Education, Training and Development (ETDP UJ) and NLP she continues to mine the depths of her psyche, describing the journey as exciting, enriching and meaningful.

Byron Gaist
studied Psychology and Counselling Psychology at undergraduate and postgraduate level in England in the 1990s and has also completed trainings in person-centred psychotherapy and guided imagery work.  He has been a practicing counselling psychologist and psychotherapist for nearly three decades now. He has worked in the areas of gerontology, family violence, addictions and in general private practice with a diversity of clients. Currently he is the head of the Policy Department at the Cyprus National Addictions Authority, and continues to work with clients in private practice, both in person and online.Byron has also been in Jungian analysis and continues his personal psychotherapeutic work until today.  He believes the journey of becoming conscious through self-knowledge, personal growth and individuation never ceases, and for the mental health professional it is essential. In 2022, he decided to further his personal development along Jungian lines, by enrolling on the Magnum Opus online programme at The Centre for Applied Jungian Studies, a four-part journey through the alchemical stages of personal transformation in Jungian psychology which he completed within a year, while also studying and completing the Jungian and Post-Jungian Clinical Concepts course with the CAJS.

Johann Mynhardt
is an Applied Jungian Practitioner at The Centre for Applied Jungian Studies. He first encountered Jung’s ideas in his early twenties while pursuing interests in comparative religion, philosophy and related subjects. Many years later he enrolled as a student at the Centre and attended programmes such as The 12 steps to individuation, The Conscious Living Programme and Clinical Concepts which deepened his theoretical knowledge of Jung’s work and allowed him to experience the transformative power of Jungian psychology first-hand. Having worked in the film industry Johann’s combined passions for film-making and Jungian theory have found a fertile partnership in the Centre’s Jungian Film School. Johann continues to deepen his undestanding of the human condition through continued interest and study in psychology, shamanism and related subjects.
